Why Goby?

Meet ‘o’opu alamo’o, the Hawaiian freshwater goby that can scale waterfalls more than 300m high. That’s like a human scaling a cliff twice the height of Yosemite’s El Capitan. Only four of Hawaii’s native gobies have evolved to rock climb, and ‘o’opu ‘alamo’o (lentils concolor), known for its distinct black and orange coloring, is the strongest climber of the group.

Goby Outdoors (pronounced GO-BEE) is inspired by the goby’s extraordinary athleticism and strives to deliver the best sun hoodies, so you can stay outside, longer.
